The Kenny Neighborhood School is located in the heart of Southwest Minneapolis at 5720 Emerson Avenue S.
Thinking of buying a home in SW but not sure if you will qualify for transportation to Kenny?  Here is a handy map that outlines the Kenny “home area” as we will call it.  Homes within these boundaries automatically qualify for Kenny Elementary, the boundaries being 54th Street to the North, 62 to the South, Xerxes Avenue to the West and 35W to the East.  The map below shows Kenny and the area that calls Kenny it’s “home school.

Kenny offers classes from Early Childhood Family Education for the birth to 5 years, through fifth grade.  After attending Kenny this area would transition students to Anthony Middle school, watch for an upcoming highlights on Anthony!

Kenny was named a 2014 Celebration School by the Minnesota Department of Education.  In fact, Kenny was the ONLY PUBLIC SCHOOL to receive this honor!  Celebration schools are honored for their efforts to increase student achievement – you can read the full MNDOE press release HERE.

The Kenny school is a proud Minneapolis Public School site featuring water and perennial gardens installed and maintained by staff and families of the school, newly painted classrooms with colors chosen by designer parents of the school, and updated technology throughout the school.
