Top Ten Spots to Sled/Skate in Minneapolis

I can’t say “skating”  any better than CBS says it HERE…..

1. THEODORE WIRTH PARK
If you want the best outdoor Minnesota spot, hands down,  go to Theodore Wirth Park.  You can follow the loppet trail on your cross country skis, rent a tube, sled down the tubing hill and tow rope back up, visit the snowboard park or warm up in the Chalet.  Check it the prices and location HERE.

2. COLUMBIA PARK
For the steepest hill in Minneapolis go to Columbia Park in NE Minneapolis.  They also have  2.2 mile cross-country trail there where the golf course lies in the summer.  http://www.minneapolisparks.org/default.asp?PageID=4&parkid=260

3. BEARD’S PLAISANCE
Beard’s Plaisance

This is a neighborhood hot spot near Lake Harriet.

4. LYNDALE FARMSTEAD RECREATION CENTER
Lyndale Farmstead Recreation Center
– Kings Hill – 3900 Bryant Ave S
Originally the Lyndale Farm, owned by Colonel William S. King hence the name “kings hill.”

5. MATTHEWS PARK
Matthews Park
– 2318 29th Ave. S
The park also has ice rinks for broomball, hockey and skating,

6. POWDERHORN PARK
Powderhorn Park –
3400 15th Ave. S

7. FULLER PARK
Fuller Park –
4800 Grand Ave. S

8. THE ST. PAUL TOWN & COUNTRY CLUB
The St Paul Town and Country Club under the Lake Street Bridge-300 North Mississippi River Blvd- is another great city hot spot.
